A full quarter of editorial output for a Helsinki-based independent publisher — twelve pieces across thirteen weeks, from the book-launch landing pages to the founder essays.
The context.
Meritalo Press publishes around eight books a year and runs a small but dedicated readership through a monthly newsletter and an irregular series of essays by their editors. The press founder had been writing every word herself since 2017; by mid-2024 she had stopped being able to. The studio was hired to absorb the editorial output for one full quarter so she could finish editing the autumn list.
The approach.
A two-day sprint at the start of the quarter to lock in the twelve pieces — six book-launch landing pages, two founder essays, three newsletter issues, and one long-form retrospective on the press's first seven years. Each piece was briefed in person, drafted by Elias, edited by Lotta, and reviewed by the founder before it shipped.
The outcome.
Twelve pieces in thirteen weeks, on schedule, all in the press's established voice. The founder finished the autumn list on time. We renewed the Residency for a second quarter at the continuation discount and are now in the third consecutive quarter.
